Acerca de
The Community Transformation Workshop is an immersive, interactive two-day experience that guides participants through the foundational principles of transformation strategies informed by market analysis. Participants will spend day one of the workshop in Nevada, Iowa, exploring tools necessary to address complex revitalization initiatives. During the second day in Des Moines, participants will apply these strategies to analyze their own community’s market data and develop real world solutions. Participants will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of their community’s market data and, most importantly, how to use market analysis techniques and workplan development strategies to support their organization’s efforts.
The workshop will include instructional content sessions led by experts in the field and hands-on projects. Emphasizing the importance of partnerships and collaboration, the format will provide a learning environment that draws upon the experience and expertise of instructors and participants alike.

Waitlist: On Monday, October 7, the waitlist application closed and registration invitations were sent to applicants. Note: Selected participants are responsible for completing registration within two (2) business days and making their own arrangements for travel and hotel.

Travel Scholarships: MSAI is pleased to provide travel scholarships to participants based on financial need. The scholarship application reached capacity and closed on Sunday, August 24. As of Friday, September 13, determinations were sent to applicants.
Credit:
- Main Street America Institute participants: Completion of the 2024 Community Transformation Workshop will count toward MSA’s new certification pathway; both new and current MSAI participants can receive credit toward certification. Pre-Workshop Assignment: Participants are required to complete a pre-workshop assignment prior to arrival on October 14. The assignment is designed to provide participants with a foundational knowledge of the art of market analysis in preparation for workshop activities. Cancellations & Refunds: Cancellations communicated more than 14 days in advance of the first course date will be refunded in full. Cancellations occurring less than 14 days in advance of the first course date will be offered a 50% refund. Please note there is a $25.00 processing fee for any cancelled registration.
