September 12, 2019 | Community Spotlight: #WeAreMainStreet

This week, we officially launched the We Are Main Street campaign, a year-long 40th anniversary celebration showcasing the people who make Main Streets shine. Individuals and organizations from across the Network have already kickstarted the celebration!  Below are a few snapshots of those who shared what Main Street means to them. Scroll through the photos and get inspired with our helpful tips at the end.

Main Street is... Momentum!

Alicia_Levels_Moore.jpg
“I chose the word MOMENTUM because that is what it is happening here in Woodlawn! We are moving onward and upward supporting our business district. You can feel the excitement and energy on the ground of our community. I took this picture in front of “The Shoppes at Woodlawn” because Mr. Wayne Honeycutt has maintained his business here for 20+ years. And as a Main Street Team we were able to support him by refreshing his building.” —Alycia Levels-Moore, Woodlawn Business Association, Birmingham, Alabama

Main Street is...Family

“Main Street is... family. My downtown family has become one of the closets knit groups that dreams together, works side by side to better our town, and supports one another. There’s no other people with which I’d rather do life!” —Stephanie Gardner, Executive Director of Durant Main Street, Oklahoma

Main Street is...Community
