Eligibility: The civic leaders rate is available to elected officials and senior government staff, including mayors, county executives, city councilmembers, elected municipal leaders, staff at the director level and above in Main Street-related departments (economic development, planning, housing, infrastructure, historic preservation, etc.). 

150+ Education Sessions: Evergreen approaches to commercial district management and this year’s conference themes: Welcoming & Belonging, Connectivity Through Civic Infrastructure, Reimagining Local Spaces & Economies. Plus, a tailored Civic Leaders track offering tools and insights on the why and how of nurturing thriving commercial districts and supporting downtown revitalization through a Main Street program. 

Building Your Network: Meet-up with current contacts and make new connections during three days of sessions, between activities, and at exciting special events, from the Welcome Reception to the Big Bash celebration. 

Civic Leaders Lunch on May 7: Celebrating Civic Infrastructure Through the Community Development Block Grant with Claudia Monterrosa, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grant Programs, Department of Housing and Urban Development.

From small businesses to streetlamps, the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) has provided support to projects to uplift community priorities for both urban and rural areas for 50 years. Whether in an entitlement or non-entitlement area, civic leaders interested in promoting downtown reinvestment can utilize CDBG funds for a variety of projects that align with Main Street program goals. During this 50th anniversary year, join us to celebrate CDBG success stories and learn how you can create investments in civic infrastructure, adaptive reuse, and quality of life using this essential program.
