September 10, 2019 | We Are Main Street Officially Launches! Share Stories of the People Who Power Main Street |

LAUNCH_HEADER.png
It’s the official launch month of the We Are Main Street campaign, and we can’t wait to start this year-long 40th anniversary celebration of the people who make your Main Streets thrive.

Be sure to check out our We Are Main Street landing page for everything you need to know about the campaign, including a toolkit that outlines ideas of how to get involved, an overview of monthly themes, and tips to raise the profile of Main Street in your community. You’ll also find a range of downloadable assets, including social media shareables, a printable photo frame, and other graphics you can incorporate into your own marketing materials. Multishirt.png

Show your Main Street pride with official We Are Main Street campaign t-shirts, tote bags, water bottles, and more! Check out the full spread of We Are Main Street swag for sale here.

To kick off the campaign this month, we’re asking you to amplify the stories of people who make your Main Street special. Whether it’s a Main Street event-goer who just moved to town or a veteran volunteer who’s frequented Main Street for years, take this month to highlight the folks who make your Man Street shine.

Simply ask your community members to fill out the We Are Main Street postcard with what Main Street means to them, pose with it in a photo, and share it to social media using #WeAreMainStreet. But don’t stop there! Ask them to share their Main Street story and highlight it in your post. Get creative and share stories far and wide to bring awareness to the campaign in its first official month.

For Alycia Levels-Moore of the Woodlawn Business Association, Main Street is "momentum:"
Alicia_Levels_Moore.jpg"I chose the word MOMENTUM because that is what it is happening here in Woodlawn! We are moving onward and upward supporting our business district. You can feel the excitement and energy on the ground of our community. I took this picture in front of “The Shoppes at Woodlawn” because Mr. Wayne Honeycutt has maintained his business here for 20+ years. And as a Main Street Team we were able to support him by refreshing his building."
